About ByteReview

Independent, benchmark-driven cloud platform reviews for engineering teams. Based in Amsterdam, read worldwide.

Who We Are

ByteReview was established in 2019 in Amsterdam with a straightforward premise: cloud platform purchasing decisions should be informed by reproducible benchmarks and hands-on testing, not vendor marketing materials or sponsored content. We saw a gap in the European technology media landscape for a publication that treats cloud infrastructure reviews with the same rigour that hardware review sites bring to processor and GPU evaluations.

Our editorial team comprises engineers and analysts who have built and operated production systems on every major cloud provider. Before joining ByteReview, our staff held engineering and architecture roles at companies including Google Cloud, Deloitte, and AnandTech. Every review we publish is grounded in controlled testing, and we make our benchmark scripts publicly available so that readers can reproduce our results.

ByteReview Digital B.V. is registered in the Netherlands (KVK 82451390) and operates independently. We carry no venture capital funding and accept no payment for editorial coverage. Advertising revenue is clearly separated from our editorial process, and sponsored content is always disclosed.

Senior Reviewer & Benchmarking Specialist

Raj brings a hardware-review mindset to cloud infrastructure testing. Previously at AnandTech, where he benchmarked server processors and enterprise storage systems, he now applies the same disciplined methodology to cloud compute, block storage, and object storage services. Raj designs and maintains ByteReview's benchmark test suite, ensuring consistent and reproducible results across all evaluations.

Security & Compliance Editor

CISM-certified security professional with eight years of experience in cloud security assessment. Anna spent four years at Deloitte advising enterprise clients on cloud compliance frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIS2. At ByteReview, she leads our security posture evaluations and compliance scorecard reviews, translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable assessments for engineering and security teams.

Our Methodology

Every ByteReview evaluation follows a standardised testing protocol developed and refined over four years of continuous benchmarking. We believe that a review is only as credible as its methodology, which is why we publish our test configurations, scripts, and raw data alongside every review.
